8 gift ideas for difficult people
Not to get anyone nervous here, but there are only a few more gift shopping days before Christmas. There could be all sorts of reasons that there are still some people on your list who haven’t been checked off. Maybe you’re just always a last minute person, or maybe you’re waiting for the really great last minute deals. Or maybe you’ve just been too busy. Or…maybe you’ve been pushing off buying gifts for those “difficult” people on your list. Some people, even those we love, are really just “difficult.” Either they have weird tastes and it’s hard to know what they’ll go for, or they just have that personality that’s really hard to please. Or  maybe you need to shop for some people who already have everything. But time is running out, and you’ve got to get something, so what kind of gift do you give to difficult people? I always say that you can’t go wrong with a gift card. You can spend as much as you want, and if you don’t know where your difficult person will want to shop for something he/she will like, there’s always Amazon.com or Target, where you can get pretty much anything. Those are great options, but if you want to give something more personal here are 8 gift ideas for difficult people that might work:

  1. Starbucks gift cards. You can choose any amount you like, and who says “No” to a gift card for coffee?
  2. Movie package gift card. Put enough on it for admission for two and some snacks.
  3. A warm blanket. No idea why, but there are some who would call me difficult, and this is one of the best gifts I’ve ever got!
  4. Ugg slippers. This is a little pricey, but if it’s in your price range it’s a pretty safe bet. They’re cozy and sturdy enough to wear outside.
  5. Almost anything personalized. Personalizing something makes it special and you can put someone’s name or initials on almost anything in every price range: mugs, cutting boards, journals, wallets, overnight bags.
  6. A cooking class. If there’s a foodie on your list who already has every cookbook, buy admission to a cooking class for a something fun and different.
  7. Or any other class. Ask around or do a Google search for writing, dancing, music, skating, or any type of class in the area.
  8. Candles. It seems as if everyone loves candles- they’re decorative and they make your house smell nice. You can buy one beautiful candle or a nicely packaged gift set.

Did I mention that maybe, maybe I can be difficult myself? Yeah- I know, crazy! But even if it were true, I would love any of these gifts, and it’s a safe bet that your difficult person will, too!
