It’s November, so technically it’s fall. I guess it depends on where you live, but typically you expect November to be consistently chilly. You know that most days you’ll be wearing a sweater, maybe even a turtleneck or boots. And though you might not really need a winter coat every day, you will at least need a warm jacket. Sound right to anyone? Not to me! Where I live, the only consistent thing about fall weather is that it is seriously inconsistent!
I really don’t like these mind games the weather plays with me, but more importantly, I have a real dilemma when it comes to dressing appropriately for such erratic temperatures. I don’t know from one day to the next if I’ll need boots or flip flops, a light cardigan or a down coat! I don’t like weather surprises, I like to have fun with fashion, and I also don’t like to be too hot or too cold. Really, what do you wear? Every day was a guessing game until I hit upon a brainstorm- the poncho! A poncho is the perfect answer to a season where the temperature varies so much from day to day, or even hour to hour. A poncho covers all bases because: 1) it’s extremely stylish, 2) it’s perfect for chilly days when a cardigan isn’t enough but a coat is too much, and 3) it’s perfect for layering so that you can add or shed layers as the weather changes on you, and you won’t feel overstuffed or bulky.
Let’s talk about how hot ponchos are this fall. Yes, pun intended! Need some convincing? Read about it here and here. And here’s one more! I hope I’ve inspired you. If you don’t already own a fabulous poncho, go out and get yourself one! I guarantee you’ll put it to good use, and that you’ll love wearing it. The good thing is that you won’t have to hunt to find a poncho that you love and you won’t have to spend piles of money on one, either.
